The days are getting shorter, the nights colder, and the fall breeze is creeping in. As the season changes, our skin can suffer as it tries to adjust to the sudden climate change. This calls for a more considered skincare routine to help prevent the skin issues that come with colder weather.
The fall wind can be very harsh and dry, and even the indoor heaters that you use to escape from the cold can do some damage. The dryness in the air can pose great stress to your skin, stripping it of it’s moisture and thus reducing it’s overall glow. In the summer there is high moisture content in air, but the sudden drop in the fall can quickly make your skin feel tight and dry. To prevent moisture loss and maintain a beautiful complexion you’ll need to update your skin care regime accordingly.
Fall Skin Care
A skin care routine for the fall season should include cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating. Including these steps to your daily skin care regime would help you keep your skin balanced and glowing throughout the season. Here are the four most important things you need to do in fall.
As the air gets colder and loses it's moisture, so does your skin. In order to maintain a clean & moisturized complexion, use the Deep Cleansing mask as a way to thoroughly cleanse without stripping the skin of the natural oils it needs to stay moisturized. Use once or twice a week if you have dry/normal skin. Use three times a week or more if you have oily/troubled skin.
In order to reap the benefits of your skincare products, you must exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells. The gentle formula of our Exfoliating Mask won’t irritate the skin which is important as skin can become more sensitive in the cooler months due to wind and lack of moisture. Use the Exfoliating face mask at least once a week so that your skin stays soft & smooth. This will also help your skin more easily absorb any moisturizing products you use afterwards.
Boost Hydration Levels
Keeping your skin hydrated is always important, but even more so as we transition into fall/winter. As the weather starts to change, your skin may start to feel dry and tight due to the cold air and the heaters kicking on in your office/home. Use the Hydrating mask at least twice a week to give your skin the boost of moisture it needs to stay nourished as the season’s change. We recommend to also use the mask as a sleep mask for an intense boost if skin is feeling especially dry.
Prevent Dry Lips
As the air gets cooler, your lips are also susceptible to drying out. Don't wait for your lips to dry out to take care of them. Be proactive! Apply our lip mask every night to avoid dry, cracked lips. You can leave the mask on for 20 minutes as instructed or leave on overnight
